Auré Photobooth featured in Carats + Cakes

Carats + Cakes curates real weddings. No styled shoots. No vendor submissions built for publication. Every vendor appears because the work already fits the aesthetic and technical standard of the feature.

Since starting Auré, I noticed photo booths rarely appear in editorial wedding features. In many event settings, booths are treated as entertainment first. Fun, playful, and designed to produce a quick keepsake. In editorial environments, this approach often breaks visual continuity. Inconsistent lighting, uncontrolled backgrounds, and uneven results do not support a full gallery experience.

This wedding at Nestldown required cohesion. Every design choice, from color palette to wardrobe to natural light during cocktail hour, contributed to a unified visual environment. The photo booth needed to support that environment without drawing attention to itself.

Planning for this July wedding began in May. The guestbook design, photo strip layout, and booth placement were all planned out in advance. Editorial work demands restraint. Props were minimized and curated to not create clutter and a separate table was designated for the guestbook to keep the booth area visually clean and uninterrupted.

The couple chose a white backdrop for the entire day. During daylight cocktail hour, blue cast from the sky affects white surfaces. Guests were positioned intentionally and camera settings were adjusted to maintain natural skin tones. Once evening light set in, settings were refined again. A high quality image is not created by the backdrop alone. Lighting and distance do the work. Guests stood several feet in front of the backdrop to fall into a natural gradient rather than overexposing under flash.

After the wedding, each individual photo was cropped, color corrected where needed, and delivered with consistency in mind. Predictable results are not accidental. They are the outcome of preparation, control, and follow through.

Being featured does not change Auré’s direction. It affirms that a photo booth, when approached with discipline and intent belongs alongside the most respected vendor teams and environments.
